Loreto Convent School Visit
Leading Firefighters Ivan De Haro and Jonathan Golding recently paid a visit to the Year 2 pupils of the Loreto Convent School
as part of the Community Safety work carried out by the staff of the Fire Safety Department. The children had been studying the Great Fire of London and one of their teachers Miss Liz Pink requested the visit to tie in with the project.
The Fire officers talked to the children about how to call the fire brigade and what number to call (190), what to do if their clothes
should catch fire (Stop, Drop and Roll), the dangers of playing with matches (Frances the Firefly) and about the work that
Firefighters carry out. The children were each presented with a souvenir Firefighter helmet.
If you would like to arrange for one of our Fire Safety Officers to visit your school please email the
Fire Safety Department at: firesafety@gibfire.gi or
