Lift Rescue Training

During October 2010 the City Fire Brigade Operational crews carried out Lift Rescue procedures. This consisted of three, two day courses in which the operational watches were instructed in these procedures and involved the delivery of power-point presentations and practical sessions in unison with Lift Company engineers, namely Otis, Embarba and Fain at different buildings throughout Gibraltar with numerous and different lift operating systems.

In addition to the training program organised with the Lift Company technicians a lift rescue toolkit which includes an operations guide booklet has been introduced by the Brigade and will be carried on all our first line fire appliances.
